    Introduction
I am a professional singer who loves all things related to singing! The human voice is capable of so much expression, beauty and communication in such an endless variety! I believe the human voice is capable of creating many types of vocally healthy sounds while maintaining artistic integrity. I enjoy pushing the envelope of mastering various vocal styles and I love showing my students how to do the same!

    My Teaching Background
I have been teaching private voice lessons for over 20 years and singing professionally even longer. I attended Central Washington University and sang lead soprano in the award-winning vocal jazz choir directed by John Moawad. While still a student, my female, vocal jazz quartet, Sudden Touch, gained national attention and was featured on the cover of the Jazz Educators Journal. After receiving my Bachelor's Degree, cum laude, I decided to focus more on classical singing and opera studying with some of the finest classical teachers in Seattle. The Queen of the Night from Mozart's Magic Flute has become somewhat of a "signature role" although I have sung other lyric and coloratura roles as well as concert work. Currently, I perform both opera and jazz as well as some pop and R&B as well. I love to expand and grow.

My students consistently place at Solo & Ensemble and NATS Adjudications, have attended top music colleges, perform regularly in musical theatre and various bands and many have gone on to professional careers. Notable clients include Jacqueline Tabor, Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist 2010, David Bazan of Pedro the Lion and Michael Wansley "WANZ" (Seattle Opera, Porgy& Bess, 2011) featured vocalist on the platinum selling hit song, "Thrift Shop" with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I see singing as a physical discipline much like sports. Learning to sing well is more about becoming aware of your habits and choosing to build a technique which will support your musical goals. I focus on the basics of vocal technique for everone: breathing, posture, alignment, relaxation, open vowels, etc. Then I will help you learn to alter and add to that basic foundation in order to sing the vocal styles of your choice. I've worked with singers who sing jazz, pop, rock, R&B, country, funk, folk, alternative, classical, opera, church and all styles of musical theatre as well as belt. Besides healthy singing, I don't have an agenda in my studio. I help you become the kind of singer YOU want to be.

For piano, my goal is to teach musical literacy and ear training through teaching functional piano skills. Using the Alfred Adult All in One Piano Course, we work on note reading, musicianship and good, piano technique while learning chord theory. When combined with singing lessons, piano offers a rock solid musical foundation for success in school music classes, college, choirs, musical theatre and collaborative musical projects, also known as bands.

I love working with students of every level and I've worked with complete beginners of all ages as well as professionals. My only requirement is a desire to learn and grow. I offer my students a safe place to explore and learn as well as numerous performing and adjudication opportunities through my membership in the National Association of Teachers of Singing and my other professional contacts.
