    Introduction
I'm an energetic cellist and dedicated cello teacher serving Southeast Seattle. I offer a comprehensive cello program with private lessons, group classes, and frequent performances. Please visit my website to learn more about me: www.MeganTitensor.com

    My Teaching Background
After completing two performance degrees in music, I turned my focus toward teaching and now teach ages 4+. I fell in love with teaching young children and gained comprehensive training in the Suzuki cello method, which covers beginners through advanced repertoire and college-level playing. I also enjoy working with super-committed adult learners. I teach students to trust learning by ear, which allows the musician to develop from within. I focus on a strong technical foundation to build confidence in tone production and artistry. Through sequential repertoire of classical, romantic, contemporary, and traditional music, my students develop cello skills that can take them in different artistic directions. My students play in chamber music, orchestras, and bands and are strong note-readers. They improvise, compose and enjoy making music.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I embrace the Suzuki philosophy in my teaching, which is a philosophy based on the principle that everyone can learn. Given the right environment for learning, immersing oneself in a musical setting, receiving positive feedback, and learning from peers and a supportive network, anyone will thrive. I simply need commitment and effort from my students, and in return, they receive a loyal, dedicated teacher.
