Early music was never meant for large concert settings. Here, we perform music from Hildegard to Josquin in a small chapel whose warm acoustic and intimate seating draws the audience into the music.

The program features sophisticated, sinuous polyphony for voices and instruments, highlighting the French late medieval ars subtilior style. Side trips into sacred polyphony for two sopranos, Josquin transcriptions for lute, and trouvere tunes for solo fiddle.

This isn't a particularly kid-friendly program, although it's sometimes worth coming to just the first half of an event like this.

Adults $20, seniors $15, students $10.

Saturday performance is at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 15 Roy St, Seattle, WA 98109 -- in a small wood-beamed chapel in the church's interior.
Sunday performance is at St Thomas Episcopal Church, 8398 NE 12th St, Medina WA 98039 (near the first exit off 520 from Seattle) -- in the chapel in back.
