I had a great time at the Dusty Strings Harp Symposium learning how best to take advantage of my relatively new lever harp built from a Musicmakers kit. I had three workshops with jazz harpist Park Stickney, who was a great teacher as well as seeming to be a genuinely personable guy. My biggest regret? Not installing full levers before attending his classes. Depending on the key of each piece we worked on, I found myself either partially or wholly unable to participate in all the jazzy ornaments, particularly "lever slides" used for blue notes.

Next year, I will hopefully show up with a full complement of levers...
