    Drummers and Percussionists
    Posted by Danny Garrett - March 2, 2011 - 5:13 AM

Having studied many text forms over the years and mixing live performing experience from 3 decades I have written "Practical Drum Set" what I feel to be an easy to understand drum method.
Many dedicated drummers have worked with many great teachers and we all have our way of finding the majic button connected to the student's ability to learn.
What I have done is provide DVD instruction with text on screen that works with expanded exercises from the work book. The student sees it performed, hears it and reads it all in front of their video monitor while at the drum set.

Young aspiring drummers come to me with no disire to read music but once they understand the value of thinking the language their progress accelerates. Their ability to hear drum parts from records and hear accurate tempo are developed and this is most important. Learning to hear and listen to your part of a song as a drummer is a big part of a drummers mastery at any level.
Practical drum set breaks down essential coordination skills while playing fundimental note patterns using two to 4 different drum voices around the drum kit.
Practical drum set is a quick study to have fun with an instrument people have always wanted to play but it was too difficult or expensive or they never had the right teacher.
