Introduction
I am an experienced performer and instructor on clarinet and saxophone. I am pleased to teach students at all levels, from beginners on their instrument to advanced students who seek to make music their life's work.
My Teaching Background
I have been performing and teaching as a professional clarinetist and saxophonist since 1983.
I earned my Master of Music degree from the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music and have studied privately with Roy D’Antonio, a prominent Hollywood studio musician; David Howard of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; and George Silfies, principal clarinetist of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
I have performed with the Fresno Philharmonic and as a member of the Camas Wind Quintet. I have been on the music faculty at Pacific Lutheran University, and have served as a performer, clinician, and adjudicator in schools and music festivals around the country.
My Teaching Philosophy
Music is a joyful and creative art form, and so I look for students who come to enjoy themselves and express themselves, and who are eager to learn and grow to be the best they can be! I look to create a positive and encouraging environment, with the expectation that students will give their best and practice diligently.
Rates And Availability
My rate is $108.00 per month for four half-hour lessons, and $198.00 per month for four one-hour lessons. I teach at Kaleidoscope School of Music in Issaquah on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and I am also available to teach at my home in Maple Valley on Mondays.
