    About MeContact Me
I'm Dr. Matthew McConnell, a graduate of Boston's New England Conservatory of Music (M.M., D.M.A., Doctor of Musical Arts.) I specialize in giving piano, organ, and composition lessons to children and adults of all ages and skill levels.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I will share my passion for music, and will coach and instruct so that you or your children enjoy obtaining the skills necessary to create beautiful music in the most rewarding and enriching ways. I will guide you to the feeling of supreme accomplishment that comes with learning how to play a beautiful instrument. Imagine the joy you'll experience when you use your talents to amaze and delight your friends and family! Playing music is a gift you give to yourself, and also a gift to be shared with those you love. My role as an instructor is to equip you with the technical and mental faculties necessary to unleash your awesome musical potential!

    My Teaching Background
I've been teaching piano privately for the past 10 years. In addition, I was a Teaching Fellow at the Conservatory where I taught Fundamentals of Music, Graduate Theory, Ear Training, and Keyboard from 2006 to 2008.

I teach in North Adams, but I'll also travel to your home if you live 15 minutes away. Organ students must have access to a church.

I teach part time Tuesday through Friday. First lesson/introduction is free. Family discounts are available for back-to-back lessons. (For small children, lesson time is divided between playing musical, ear-training games and sitting at the keyboard.)
