Introduction
Hello, this is a private studio directed by Andrea Oswald. I teach the Suzuki method and specialize in working with young children. This studio is committed to helping children reach their full potential through positive experiences with music.
My Teaching Background
6 years of experience in this field, attended several classes offered by the S.S.A. under certified teacher trainers, attended several Suzuki Institutes around the North West,early childhood education grades k-5, and I had the opportunity to spend last summer at Indiana University where I was able to attend several Master Classes taught by world famous violinist.
My Teaching Philosophy
Students are presented to a fun and challenging atmosphere. Lessons are taught in a progressive manner, allowing students to progress at their own pace. Focus is on using positive reinforcement to help students achieve their full potential with confidence. Every student will increase their ability to concentrate, control of his or her movements, and the goal to play each and every note with precise accuracy. It is only with small steps this can and will be achieved. Students will perform at the annual spring recital. Every student will play a solo at the recital with piano accompaniment. Individual recitals are held on completion of a book.
Rates And Availability
I currently teach out of a in home private studio.
Private Lessons
Weekly private lessons are offered year-round, Monday through Saturday. Lessons are 30 minutes or 45 minutes, depending on age, attention span, and playing level. Cost is very affordable to make this program available to everyone. $10.00 for a half hour lesson and $15.00 for a 45 minute lesson.
Group Lessons
monthly group lessons are offered for motivation, fun, and to socialize, while practicing with other children. As a student advances, easy duets and ensembles are introduced. Cost of group lessons are $5.00.
