    About MeContact Me
Offering Voice and Piano Lessons in a fun and relaxed setting!

Jennifer Ceresa is an experienced, effective, and versatile musician and educator. As a singer, she has sung throughout the Pacific Northwest as a soloist and opera singer, with groups including Seattle Opera, Seattle Symphony, The Seattle Choral Company, and the Boise Master Chorale. She has also been a featured soloist in events such as Video Games Live! concerts, Seattle Symphony’s “The Music Man”, conducted by the renowned Marvin Hamlish, and on movie soundtracks. She is involved in the musical theater scene, having not only been on stage, but working as musical director, conductor, and accompanist for various productions. Jennifer’s work as an educator has spanned two decades, and she is now a sought-after teacher, vocal coach, accompanist, clinician, and conductor.

As an educator, Jennifer has operated a private voice and piano studio for 22 years. Currently on the voice faculty at Skagit Valley College, she has also taught voice at Pierce Community College, and taught piano, voice, and conducted choirs at Edmonds Community College. She is a member of NATS and AGMA. Her students have frequently been awarded top honors in local and state competitions, scholarships to major music schools in the US, and have gone on to have successful careers in opera, musical theater, and popular music.

Lessons are offered year-round, Monday - Friday (possibly Saturday). Students only need a positive attitude and the rest we work out together! Lessons are taught in a comfortable setting in my home. I work with the principles of the Alexander Technique, which focuses on understanding the way the body works in parts and as a whole, and learning to inhibit tension and coordinate movements to achieve freedom in whatever activity one pursues.

Students are encouraged to explore the kinds of music they find interesting - not everyone wants to be an opera singer or classical pianist! I have a background in classical, opera, musical theater, jazz, and popular music, so come and do what you love to do. Above all, my hope is that each student will find within themselves a greater love of music, the courage to free their expressive, inner musical voice, and to have much fun along the way!
