Introduction
I'm a K-State grad who has recently returned to my home state after almost 20 years in the Southwest. I've been teaching piano since college and have taught literally hundreds of students over the years. I'm thrilled to be opening my studio in Olathe and am now accepting students.My Teaching Background
I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Kansas State University. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching all ages and levels. I have also been a church musician, both a traditional church organist and as part of a worship team, and an accompanist for almost 30 years. My Teaching Philosophy
I believe everyone has the capability to learn music. I do not expect every student to become a professional musician, but I do expect every student to gain something from studying music. My goal is to help each student acheive the most they can and have fun along the way. I strive to adapt my teaching methods to meet each students personal learning style.
I use traditional methods and teach mostly classical music, but will also teach other types of music depending on the student's wishes. Theory, technique and functional piano skills are included as a regular part of the lessons. Rates And Availability
My studio is in my home. I teach Monday - Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. Tuition is $60/month. |
