These studio locations are in the private and "traditional" settings of my home studio or in a local church in Riverside. There is no noisy conflict between more than one lesson being given at a time, and the atmosphere is quiet and uninterrupted. Fees are usually lower than those charged in music stores!
At Miss Becky's Violin Studio I provide excellent private and group lessons to students of all levels. Students range in age from about 5 to 85. I'm a professionally trained, experienced and very enthusiastic teacher of violin, fiddle, viola and beginning cello! I have loved working with students for over 15 years. "Miss Becky's Violin Studio" was established in approximately 1997. I have worked with 100's of students and helped a wide variety of personalities pursue and reach their musical goals and "live their dream" of becoming able to play well. I specialize in teaching classical technique to all violinists and cellists, using The Suzuki Method philosophy and materials with everyone.. Additionally, all standard classical repetoire can be used in lessons. Some students want to play classically on a professional level and want to improve performance skills. Some students have no experience playing any musical instrument. A few students are really most interested in learning technique to play fiddle, or improvisation and I can help them gain the technique to do this. I have also taught students with various disabilities. The studio size is limited to 25 - 30 students, Please check with the teacher for availability.
The studio offers Group lessons to successful students who would benefit from the group experience. Public performance is included. In August 2005 I made my CD called "Rebecca Price, Just Fiddlin' Around". It represents my own developing tastes in music including classical, folk and Irish, Scottish, Americana and Country/Bluegrass fiddle styles. My Teaching Background
During my 42 years of study, I've primarily focussed on classical music. Then fiddle (Bluegrass, Irish, Scottish, Celtic) folk, sacred and popular, "new music" and improvisation, I teach all of these styles. I've worked with many great classical teachers such as Mehli Mehta, Claire Hodgkins and Richard Ferrin, etc.. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Violin Performance in 1981 from Johnston College in Redlands, California. I've taught elementary-aged students in Dunlap Elementary School during 2002 and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Masonic Lodge of Yucaipa for my music teaching there. Various newspaper articles were written by the Yucaipa NewsMirror, and The Sun about myself and my students concerts. I launched "Miss Becky's Violin Studio" in 1997. But I have taught music for over 15 years.
My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is that "Everyone Can Learn" to play an instrument well with the proper motivation and instruction. I also believe that "Learning Music is Fun" so every student should be enjoying their learning process. I encourage students to work hard to reach small and large goals. I design lessons which are tailored to student. We may learn parts of a piece and later learn the rest. Good communication between teacher and parent, teacher and student, is also supported. Students of all ages and backgrounds can learn how to express their own questions, problems and their successes to a teacher.
