My name is Micah Beverly. I'm a 34 year old professional musician now living in Chandler, AZ. I'm originally from the CA Bay Area and have many years of experience performing and teaching. My students are adults, beginner to advanced, men and women.

Originally from the CA Bay Area, I moved out here in July of 2005. My girlfriend, also from CA, is a graduate student at ASU, so I came out here to be with her while she finishes her PhD in Sociology. Besides teaching guitar, I’m pursuing my solo music career as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter here in Tempe. I picked up the guitar when I was 15, joined my first band 2 years later and now have 18 years of experience in the music field. Music has been a core part of my life for many years. My passion is teaching and playing music—it’s what I love to do, so I am very committed and enthusiastic about my work, I mean job. Work is something you have to do, a job is what you love to do.
My Background
-Bio Excerpt- Micah is a self-taught musician having started at age 15. After having played guitar for two years he founded, wrote for, managed, and performed in the band Carpetroom -which was voted 1 of the top 3 best bands in the Bay Area in 2000 by the Metro, a local magazine. Later, he was hired by, then joined, San Francisco-based rock band MiGGs who opened for Dishwalla, Areosmith, Lifehouse, and Kid Rock. As a multi-talented individual he has been a lead guitarist for hire, a guitar teacher, consulted for bands, produced for local artists, engineered live sound at small concerts, and recorded other musicians. As if that isn’t enough, his website MicahBeverly.com, all graphic designs, recordings, video, and CDs were created by him! “I love every aspect of music, from the business end to the creativity side of designing, writing, and performing. I will be somewhere in music, forever."
My Teaching Philosophy
Teach students everything they need to know and don't know to ask. Ability comes with time and correct practice, but knowledge can be obtained rather quickly. Don't spend money to practice, but rather have someone guide and teach you the interesting music theory you need to know. This will enable a student to understand music, read tab, read notation, and write their own songs. I want my students to feel confident about their guitar knowledge and have the tools to take their guitar playing in any direction they wish. Not only will you gain a well-rounded foundation of music theory but also right and left hand exercises to help you attain the motor skills and dexterity necessary to play the guitar. Then we can take that basic knowledge and ability, and apply it to your goals of playing for career or personal enjoyment
Rates & Availability
-Lessons held Sunday - Wednesday, 11am till 9pm
-I Teach from my home studio in Chandler AZ (Rural Rd & Chandler Blvd).
-Each Lesson is 1 full hour!
-$50/lesson hr
-Payment billed monthly at last lesson of the month for the following month.
