Introduction
I am a professional fiddle player and an all round string player including many years experience. I am also a composer, arranger and recording artist with 6 CD's that I've produced. I am a practical and working musician who has seen all aspects of performing and teaching.My Teaching Background
I have taught private lessons for nearly 25 years. I have a Masters Degree in music from the Univ. of Memphis (1976) and have taught numerous old time fiddle classes
at U of Memphis during the 1980's and early 90's. I have also taught at a middle school orchestra and have taught students of all ages. My Teaching Philosophy
I teach music based on the need and the knowledge level of the student. I challenge them to play and know more than they already do. I teach them to read and hear music. I also teach them how they are going to have to take responsibility for themselves if they are going to excel in music or anything else for that matter. Rates And Availability
I teach privately at my apartment. I charge $37.50 per one hour lesson. because of my multiple interests and other responsibilities I only teach from my studio. |
