Linda Gauthier | Offering private lessons in Greenland, New Hampshire |
Introduction My students learn classical, contemporary and popular music with a focus on self-esteem and improvisation. My Teaching Background I studied privately under the direction of reknowned instructor, Dorothea Simon Schoepf, for ten years and went on to further my studies with Margaret Westlake Powers prior to entering college for my bachelor's degree in music.
I have 25-plus years of teaching experience and have taught not only in NH, but also in both Northern and Southern California. Shortly after relocating to Southern California, I was recognized as one of the "top" five teachers in the Thousand Oaks area.
A composer and arranger for many years, I've recorded and released six piano CDs. My first recording, "Snowfields", received a 10/10 rating in CD Review shortly after its release. My Teaching Philosophy I teach music theory with a classical approach and focus highly on self-esteem. My students want to be rewarded and certainly deserve to be. My education as a composer and arranger affords me the ability to teach improvisation to my students, which adds richness to any piece of music. Rates And Availability I teach in my home on a Yamaha C2 piano. I teach in increments of 30, 45 and 60 minutes. A half-hour lesson is $25; a 45-minute lesson is $37.50; and a 60-minute lesson is $50.
