    About MeContact Me
    Introduction
I have recently relocated from the Boston, MA area to Encino, CA. I am a soprano who performs musical theater, classical music, and opera. I love to teach and am passionate about passing on my knowledge of vocal technique, style, and managing "stage fright". I teach all styles of music, using the basic techniques in classical singing to provide a healthy foundation for any style of singing.
My students have had great success; from being admitted into Fine Arts programs in colleges, getting the lead in their school musical, getting a job in a professional choir, or just finding the confidence to get up and perform at an open mic night.
I want to help you have more fun discovering the full potential of your voice and help you become a more expressive and confident performer.

    My Teaching Background
I have 11 years of experience teaching voice lessons to singers of all ages and levels of experience. I specialize in operatic, classical, musical theater, and pop styles. In addition to my home studio I have also taught through the Musical Journeys Program at the State University of New York at Fredonia and at Newbury College in Brookline, MA, where I founded the Newbury Voices program. In addition to teaching privately, I have taught small group voice classes, conducted vocal ensembles, music directed a high school musical and co-directed a children's opera.
I have a B.A. in Voice from SUNY Fredonia and a M.M. in Opera from Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. Further studies include my participation as a singer in the Key West Symphony Young Artists' Program, the Crittenden Opera Workshop, and V.O.I.C.Experience with Sherrill Milnes and Friends in Tampa, Florida.
As a performer, I have sang with a variety of professional organizations, including: Calliope Ensemble, Odyssey Opera, The North End Music and Performing Arts Council, Opera Showcase, Flyleaf Theater, the Boston Vocal Arts Studio, and Força, in concert with the Video Game Orchestra.

    **NEW!!!**
I also offer performance practice and creativity coaching sessions. These sessions are scheduled separately and focus on "creative blocks" that we all experience, as well as managing stage fright and nerves. I have studied several different methods that can help with these issues, as well as participated in workshops specifically geared toward overcoming the fear to perform or create. These tools can be beneficial in voice lessons and in everyday life. Nerves and fear are something we all experience, whether we are musicians, writers, artists, or in any other kind of creative field. The performance practice/creativity coaching sessions may take several different formats, depending on individual needs.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I am here to help you make the most out of your voice and to help you feel more confident, both in and out of the vocal studio. I tailor my lessons to each individual, while aiming to help you find a healthy technique that gives you maximum stamina and your own, authentic sound. My lessons usually include a focus on breath and resonance (don't worry, we'll debunk that if you're not sure what I mean) and playing with different approaches until we find what works for you.

Being able to "read" music is not necessary. I encourage my students to record their lessons with me, if possible. In addition to voice lessons, I assist students in audition preparation for schools, church performances, cabaret, community theater and college auditions. My lessons often include basic acting and musical performance interpretation, as well as vocal technique.
