    Introduction
    My name is Ken Rhodes. I run Kolob Music Instruction. I offer guitar lessons that are not the same as all the other guitar teachers. I offer several different programs for a variety of needs and budgets. I specialize in rock guitar, but I also teach classical guitar.

    My Teaching Background
    I have been playing the guitar since 1985. I've been in several bands and I have been studying better teaching techniques from master guitar teachers and players for the last four years. I am currently taking lessons from Tom Hess (tomhess.net), and Scott Kritzer (scottkritzer.com).

    My Teaching Philosophy
    My philosophy is simple. Natural talent can make learning guitar easier, but I believe that anyone who has a strong enough desire to do the work and has found the right teacher can acomplish any musical goals they might have. Playing the guitar is a very physical activity and the difference between playing and playing well is all about proper practice and good instruction from a teacher that cares about your progress.

    Rates And Availability
    I teach private lessons in my home and at Whittlesticks music store. I also run various group programs that are taught in various formats and locations, depending on student needs. Rates vary according to the program selected. The right program for each student is determined on an individual basis from candid conversations between the instructor and the student. The first lesson is a free half hour lesson, which is part of the process of determining the right program.
