    Introduction
    My name is Kathi Russell, and am the owner of Russell Piano Studio, in North Stonington CT. My program focuses on develping the entire musician within the student, enabling them to continue to develop their skills long after lessons have ended. Every student is given an individualized program based on their unique interests, experience and development level. Adults and retirees are welcome!

    My Teaching Background
    I earned a Master of Music Education from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam in Music Education. I have taught in public schools in both the Elementary and Middle school levels, and currently maintain a vital, growing studio for both beginning and intermediate level students.

    My Teaching Philosophy
    My approach is based on current research in how students learn to read music as well as my own experience in what motivates children and adults. Students benefit from a multi-key, approach to learning music. I do not believe that any one particular method will work for every student. I maintain a huge lending library to supplement student's learning opportunities, and this is included in the monthly tuition. Through the interview process and continual evaluation of the student, a program is developed to meet the needs of the individual student. Multiple performance opportunities are integrated into the studio experience - some are low-key and some are formal.

    Rates And Availability
    Private lessons are available between 9:00 and 6:00, Monday - Thursday. The studio is located in downtown North Stonington, easily accessed from Rt. 95 and Rt. 2. Please feel free to call me for more information. 860-535-2630.
