Introduction
I am a professional singer/songwriter with 10 years of teaching experience. I teach students of all ages beginning piano and voice.
My Teaching Background
I have been singing and studying music my whole life. At Brown University, I was able to learn from great musicians. Since college, I have been performing, recording and teaching music. Since moving to Portland, I have had the opportunity to work at some excellent music schools. On itunes and CD Baby, I have released 4 independent CD's and I have a catalog of over 200 original songs.
My Teaching Philosophy
We all have musical talent. My goal is to help beginning students achieve a love of expression through music. I create a playful, joyful atmosphere while using the best methods I’ve learned over my many years of training as an artist. My goal is to enhance each student’s confidence and self-esteem as they master the universal language of music and express themselves in that new language.
Rates And Availability
I teach at my home studio in North Portland and I also travel to student's home for a $5 traveling fee. I teach Sunday through Thursday. I charge $30 for 1/2 hour lesson. For 45 minute lessons, I charge $40 and $50 for an hour lesson. There is a discount for a package of 4 lessons.
