    About MeContact Me
    Introduction
I am a trumpet teacher (and professional trumpet player) in Seattle, Washington. I've been teaching for fifteen years, and have had a wonderful experience working with aspiring players from age 6 to 60 (literally!).

    My Teaching Background
I've been playing the trumpet since the fourth grade. I appear on numerous recordings, including three of my own.
I'm privileged to have a full and varied performance schedule.

I graduated in 1964 from Olympic College, and attended the University of Washington.

    My Teaching Philosophy
My job is to teach the physical and musical aspects of trumpet performance. The specific areas of stylistic focus are up to the student.
My goal is to provide a practical application of music theory, with the goal of enhancing creativity, not stifling it.

    Rates And Availability
I teach on Mondays and Wednesdays at Metropolitan Music (5th NE and NE 85th), and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Music & Arts (2nd Ave SW and SW 153rd in Burien).
Lessons are 1/2 hour weekly, and cost $30/lesson. Payment is by the month (in advance), minus planned absences. Credit is given for lessons missed due to illness, but not for schedule conflicts. Re-scheduling is always an option.
