Introduction
Hi! My name is Emily and I would love to offer you flute or piano lessons. Any age, any talent, ANYONE! If you have always wanted to learn, then why not start now?
I just graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree in music. Although fresh out of college, I am confident that I have the talents you or your child needs to start and discover a love for music!
My Teaching Background
My passion has and always will be: MUSIC. As soon as my mom sat me down at the piano when I was 3 and taught me a few notes, I knew music needed to be in my life. After finding a talent for it as well as a passion, a few years later I was given guitar lessons and after that, flute. If I wasn't practicing or playing in church, I was entertaining my family or performing in band. I knew it was going to be my major when I started college. And that, it was. I graduated with a music degree in which my main focus was flute.
Playing experience: piano - 19 years, flute - 12 years, classical guitar - 14 years
Teaching Experience: 2 years teaching private guitar and piano
Bands/Ensembles: Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Flute Choir, Woodwind Quartet, Woodwind Quintet, Piano accompanist, instrumentalist in church choir
Accomplishments: 1 1/2 hour solo flute senior recital, 1st chair flute - college band, 2nd chair flute - Intercollegiate Band, several music scholarships
My Teaching Philosophy
I love the thrill of passing on my passion to others. It is indescribable watching my students' improvements and success. Because of that, I know it is what I am meant to do and offer to you.
I expect what most should expect. I require my students to have fun playing music. Although we would all want to be rockstars, it cannot be done overnight. Therefore, I also require my students to try their best in practicing and lessons.
Rates And Availability
No need to leave your house! I am willing to drive to your house, given it is within 20 miles of my home. Because I will be driving, I am charging $25 per lesson. Each lesson will be AT LEAST 30 minutes long. If we go over, no worries! If you would like an hour lesson, the price will increase. I am available Monday-Friday from 5:30 p.m. until as late as you'd like!
