Introduction
Originally from Washington State, I moved to Wisconsin in 2001 to attend college. This past summer, my husband, daughter and I moved to the Twin Cities. I love music and have been playing the piano for as long as I can remember.
My Teaching Background
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in piano pedagogy from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI in 2005. Since then I have taught beginner - advanced piano both privately and for the college. I also taught elementary and junior high music classes at Faith Christian School in Dunbar, WI for the past two years.
My Teaching Philosophy
I especially enjoy working with young children, establishing a strong musical foundation, and instilling in them a love for music. My piano studio is designed specifically for beginner—intermediate students in K5-6th grade. I incorporate technique, theory, ear-training, composing , sight reading, and performing in a traditional private lesson format to develop and grow an understanding, love, and appreciation for music and the piano in my students whatever their age or ability.
Rates And Availability
Weekly lessons are offered to elementary students in my home or, if you prefer, in your home and are available in either 30 minute or 45 minute lengths. Monthly tuition rates are as follows: $60 for 30 minute lessons and $90 for 45 minute lessons.
