Ed Kydd | Offering private lessons in Nashua, New Hampshire |
Introduction I am a professional guitar/bass player/teacher living in the Birch Hill area of Nashua with my wife, Bobbie, and my German Shepherd, Miles. Bobbie plays jazz violin with me in ‘B&E’, and plays classical with the Nashua Chamber Orchestra. My dog (named after the late Miles Davis) keeps me physically fit, and provides home security. I’m always trying new things. My latest ambition is learning extended range (bass & guitar) on my new Novax 8 string fanned-fret Charlie Hunter style guitar. My Teaching Background I have 40 years of playing experience as well as 5 semesters of guitar at Berklee College and studied with Al Dean in Westport CT. before and after my attendance at Beklee College of Music in Boston. I have a BA in communications from Rivier College and years of playing experience in various bands, duos and solo. My oldest student has published several CD's, and has been studying with me continuously since 1995. My Teaching Philosophy I stress the learning of rhythm, note reading, chords and scales as building blocks for a student to grow into the style of any artist they choose. Whether it be rock, jazz or classical, I strive to help the student develop the skills that they need to achieve the mastery that they desire. Rates And Availability My studio is a 28 x 14 living room equipped with guitars, amps, recording equipment, PA, massive amounts of music, HDTV and awesome speaker system. I have a separate office with a copier, printer, and years of guitar magazine subscriptions including Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Guitar World, Acoustic Guitar World, and more. I also have an extensive jazz and classical library and have a lot of material memorized. I do not travel to your home. I charge $35 for a 45 minute lesson and my students pay in advance on a monthly basis. One hour lessons are also available. I teach Mon. - Sat. from 10 am until 9 pm. |
