    About MeContact Me
My name is Lenny "Gee" Giachello, I came out to L.A. in 1980 to pursue my music career along with a recording rock band. I began teaching in 1983 and discovered that I loved teaching drums and I have been told that my passion comes through in my teaching. I love to play drums and I love to teach others the beauty of playing the drum set and watch them progress and achieve their musical aspirations.

    My Teaching Background
I have over 30 years of teaching experience, special talent with young children, but teach all ages, I have had students from 4-84! I am also a professional drummer and am the leader of two bands, the Lock Brothers (Rock) and The Lenny Gee Jazz Trio. I have studied with some of the most famous drummers in the world beginning with the Jazz Legend; Elvin Jones, David Garabaldi of Tower of Power and for the past 15 +years and presently with jazz great, Joe Porcaro.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I teach you what you need to know and what you want to know. I understand the importance of finding a teacher that teaches the fundamentals of playing properly combined with the ability to play the type of music that you want to play. I promise to train you or your student in all the fundamentals proficiently and correctly, from the beginning to a lifetime of musical ability. I recently had one of my previous students who has now gone on to college tell me that thanks to my teaching how to read drum charts he is the best Chart Reader in his College level Big Band.

    Rates And Availability
I teach in two locations, at my home studio in Carson/Long Beach and I also teach at a church in Torrance. My tuition is $130 for 4 -30 minute lessons, or $220 for 4- 1 hour lessons. I am known for my generosity with time, because I teach from my own studios, I have the flexibility to give my students extra time and not be a clock watcher. I prefer to teach at my studio because of time constraints with driving etc, but am willing. My usual rate for teaching in the students home would be for hourly lessons only and would be $75 per lesson.
