    About MeContact Me
    Introduction
I am a trombonist and teacher in the North Kitsap/Bainbridge Island area. I teach low brass instruments: Tenor and Bass Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium, or Tuba. I have experience in a wide variety of styles, from concert band to jazz to film and video game soundtracks.

I also offer lessons in music theory for all musicians. My curriculum is designed with two goals: coverage and review of practical musical knowledge to make sure there is no partial or mis-information, and prepare a student to excel in college-level music theory courses. These lessons may be incorporated into instrumental lessons or taken separately.

    My Teaching Background
I obtained my Bachelor of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory and my Master's from the University of British Columbia. I have been teaching and leading clinics in the northwest since 2010. I currently play bass trombone in the Buzz Whiteley Big Band and Principal Trombone in the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra. I am also a founding member of the Narrows Brass trio.

    My Teaching Philosophy
My musical ideas are built on the idea that the first thing the audience hears is a musician's sound; my focus as a teacher is on development of tone production skills, which lead naturally to technical facility and unleash the students potential for musical expression.

    Rates And Availability
I teach at the Music Mansion in Poulsbo and the Island Music Guild in Bainbridge Island. Available Wednesdays and Sundays, other days by arrangement.
