    About MeContact Me
Highly accomplished, conservatory-trained pianist and teacher. Not your grandmother's piano teacher, I teach in a new, more creative way, emphasizing ear training, improvisation, and technique without hours of repetitious, dull exercises. I teach all styles -- classical, jazz, pop, as well as improv and composition.

    My Teaching Background
Graduate of Manhattan School of Music. Over 25 years teaching experience. Toured Europe as pianist with La Mama Experimental Theatre (New York). Composer and Music Director for Riverside Shakespeare Company (New York). Numerous solo recitals in New York and Seattle. Member of Ladies Musical Club (Seattle), Eastside Music Teachers Association, and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers).

    My Teaching Philosophy
I emphasize fun and creativity, and giving my students the tools to play from the heart and express their own voices. I have a novel approach to every aspect of learning to play: ear training, technique, reading, etc. Through learning to play jazz and pop as well as classical music, students learn a great deal about chords and harmony. Theory, applied in an interesting way, is part of the process, so students understand how our music is constructed and why it makes sense to us. I incorporate techniques that actually build your brain and make you smarter and more coordinated!
