About Me
I graduated from Berklee College of Music ('02) with a degree in Performance, and since have performed with many noted artists, including Blue Note recording artist Kurt Elling and Grammy award-winner Dave Samuels. I have over 100 recording credits as a guitarist, engineer, and/or producer. I perform with Choose to Find (www.choosetofind.com), Infinite Out, The Epic United and Missing Traces. I am currently attending Boston University to earn a Master's Degree in Music Education.
My Teaching Background
I am a coordinator at the Roland Hayes School of Music in Boston, MA, where I teach music technology, improvisation, advanced ensembles and after school music courses and ensembles. I also teach in Berklee College of Music's City Music program as a private guitar instructor, Advanced Ensemble Director and Assistant to the Director at the Berklee Saturday Preparatory Academy at the Boston Arts Academy. I have taught Advanced Music Theory classes and was the head of the Guitar Department at the Boston Arts Academy 2000-2003. I've been a private guitar instructor for 19 years.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe all people who are committed to learning can gain an immense amount of satisfaction in all facets of their life by learning an instrument. Guitar is one of the most accessible instruments, and I have great success stories of students who excelled in short amounts of time because of the efficient nature of communicating musical concepts in my lessons as well as having wonderfully motivated students.
Rates
I have a home lesson space and I make house calls within a reasonable area around Boston. Lessons are 45 minutes in length and are $35, house calls are $45. I also offer correspondence lessons for those not able to attend.
