Introduction
I have an extensive background in performance and teaching. In addition to being a Senior Associate Simply Music Teacher, I am a certified Signing Smart and Kindermusik Educator and the music director at a local private elementary school. My studio offers instruction in Piano, Kindermusik, Signing Smart, Drums and Brass. My instructors are all highly educated and experienced musicians and teachers. In addition, we all take great pride in the fact that we specialize in working with children with special needs while offering private or adapted music lessons in Piano, ASL and Kindermusik.
My Teaching Background
A graduate of San Jose State University, I received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and a secondary teaching credential in music education. I have taught elementary and high school choir, theory, history, performance groups and music appreciation.
My Teaching Philosophy
We believe that everyone is naturally musical and that music encourages development in the cognitive, emotional, perceptual, social, language, and physical areas of everyone and are committed to the understanding of how each student learns which enables us to mold our programs to the needs and “learning ability” of each individual student.
Our focus is on the process not the performance allowing children and adults to experience the joy and magic of making music while fostering their individual musicality, creativity and imagination. We provide a well-rounded music education exposing students to a wide variety of musical styles, composition, accompaniment and jazz. Our teachers are university educated, highly experienced, and licensed, accredited or certified in all programs they teach.
Rates And Availability
Where Music Begins is privately owned music academy located in Pleasanton, California. We accept students of all ages and abilities and have three locations. Lesson rates vary depending on class type.
