    Introduction
I knew I wanted to play the piano the first time I saw Sha-na-na on television when I was a kid. I was 6, and I haven't changed my mind yet.

I've toured the globe with Julio Iglesias as his keyboardist, while also touring with my own jazz trio. I've released 3 jazz albums on Summit Records that charted nationally, one particularly in the top 10 for over a month. My music has been featured anywhere from NPR, Dawson's Creek and even Starbucks to name a few places. It's not that I'm boastful by any means, just grateful for the success that I have been blessed with.

I was classically trained however during my audition at Peabody Conservatory I was asked what I wanted to do with my music. "I want to be a studio musician" I responded "You're in the wrong place" a dead-panned response was uttered by the faculty. So, I attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship and found exactly what I was looking for. Playing sessions during the day and gigs in the city at night.

My wife & I moved to Charlotte in the fall of 2008 from NYC and have settled into the simple life. Although, I do miss a good slice a pizza here & there.

    My Teaching Philosophy
The most paramount factor in teaching music is stressing the importance of the fundamentals. Understanding the basic principles of music creates a solid foundation to build and excel in piano performance, regardless of style. Once the student has the understanding of the basic necessities, the opportunity to enrich the mind is without limit.

    My Teaching Background
Seeing someone "get it" when it comes to music, when they come back the next week to show you how hard they've worked, what THEY can do is absolutely priceless. It makes me look back and ask myself "I wonder if that's how I reacted".

With the encouragement, patience & simple passion for music, that's what I see every week. Teaching has to be enjoyable for the student. You WANT them to be a part of the music, the excitement, the accomplishment. Strategically teaching them discipline without them even realizing it.
