    About MeContact Me
Check out my bio below. I've worked hard to get where I am today. I'm 29 years old, and I live here in the Seattle area. Actually in Bellevue, but I teach all over. Main thing I want you to know, is that I didn't start out as a music genius, nor was I naturally gifted. I did have a talent for music, but I had to put in some work to get to where I am. I believe that I'm a good teacher because of the struggles I went through learning how to play. I understand the issues that students deal with, because I went through some of them myself. I've learned a lot through the years, and I love teaching young (and old) people how to improve their skills and become better musicians.

In May 2009 Christian was the first euphonium graduate that The Boston Conservatory had seen in many years. He was born in Germany, lived in England for a short time, and later moved with his family to San Diego, California. Mr. Riesebieter began playing the euphonium at the age of 12 in Salvation Army Church youth programs. A few years later, Christian found himself performing as a soloist with various community bands in San Diego, and traveling around the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada as a member of Salvation Army Brass Bands.

He has performed as a soloist in San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New Jersey, Atlanta, Seattle, and the United Kingdom. Christian has also performed in Alaska, Arizona, Denver, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Canada, Mexico, and Germany. Christian enjoys playing in almost any medium from Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Big Band, and even Bavarian Octoberfest Bands.

Mr. Riesebieter has been teaching private lessons and group lessons to students from the age of 6 to 60 since he was in high school.
He took two years of formal lessons with James Prindle at San Diego Mesa College where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree. In May 2009 Christian concluded his studies with James O’Dell at The Boston Conservatory, and earned a Bachelor of Music in Euphonium Performance, graduating Cum Laude. In the summer of 2009 Christian moved to Atlanta, studying with the world famous euphonium performer and teacher, Adam Frey, at Georgia State University. While in Atlanta, he married his wife Erin (also a graduate from the Boston Conservatory with a BM in voice performance and an MM in Music Education). While in Atlanta, Christian joined the Georgia Brass Band on 2nd baritone, and enlisted in the Army National Guard’s 116th band. In November 2010 Christian accepted a position at The Salvation Army Headquarters in Seattle as Music Education Coordinator, and moved to the area soon after. Christian currently teaches over 25 young people brass music through Salvation Army programs. Besides teaching and playing with the Salvation Army Band in Seattle, Christian is playing euphonium in the Salvation Army Western Territorial Band and is now a member of the 133d Army National Guard Band in Tacoma, WA. Christian enjoys spending time with his wife Erin, and their two cats. He loves food, running, p90x, and serving the Lord through his euphonium playing and teaching. He is a dedicated Lakers basketball fan as well as a Chargers football fan!
