    Introduction
    Hi! My name is Alyson Ford and I have been teaching violin lessons for 7 years. I teach all ages and experiences and also offer chamber music and music theory classes. I've just recently added viola to my teaching services. I teach in my home studio and also will travel to the students home for lessons.

    My Teaching Background
    I graduated from West Virginia University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. I studied violin with Dr. Laura Kobayashi at West Virginia University and Nancy Luttrell at Wichita State University. I have been teaching privately for seven years and have experience working with small chamber groups. Before I moved to Wichita I had a studio of 20 students in Morgantown, WV. Many of my students performed in all-county orchestra, all-state orchestra, solo and ensemble festivals, and my own annual studio recitals. I moved to Wichita June of 2006 with my husband, Kevin. Currently I teach in my studio at my home and play in Chapel Hill praise band. I have played in the following ensembles: Harford County Youth Orchestra (concertmaster), Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra, West Virginia University Symphony Orchestra, Fairmont Symphony Orchestra, Fairmont Chamber Orchestra, Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, Kingsport Symphony Orchestra, and Wichita State University Orchestra to name a few.


    My Teaching Philosophy
    I always want my students to feel like they are having fun while learning and to communicate their long term and short term goals. I understand that not everyone I teach will have music as their profession. My goal for my students is to have an aesthetic experience with music and to always use their music as enjoyment for themselves and others.

    Rates And Availability
    I teach out of my home studio or will travel to your home for lessons. I charge $12 for half hour lesson and $24 for a hour lesson. There will be a $2 travel fee if I travel to your home for lessons.
