    Introduction
    Yuriy Mikhlin provides violin and chamber music lessons to beginner and advance students in the Seattle and East side area. With over 35+ years of experience, Yuriy tailors his approach based on the goals of each student. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome, especially younger children.

    My Teaching Background
    Since moving to Seattle in 1991, we have founded a local studio and have continued providing our pedagogy expertise. Yuriy is a principal violinist of the Federal Way Symphony. He is a loyal successors of the best traditions of the Russian music school.

    Yuriy has particular expertise in finger and posture training, having focused on this subject for many years. This allows us to help students achieve rapid improvement with the least efforts.

    Yuriy holds a Master's Degrees from the Kiev Conservatory with honors. During his 20-year career as a violinist with the Kiev Opera and Ballet, Yuri has performed in Asia, Russia, and Europe. Yuri was also a faculty member of Kiev Music School and Glier College of Music.

    My Teaching Philosophy
    Our students study with great enthusiasm and fully develop their potential thanks to our individualized approach. The friendly atmosphere at our classes facilitates studentsí learning from each other. Also students are encouraged to participate in music theory and music history classes that help them gain a better understanding of music, its meaning, and its philosophy.

    Yuriy's particularly unique specialty is helping to achieve correct posture and finger training. This is equally important for students who are looking to avoid repetitive stress injuries resulting from incorrect posture and to those trying to acheive their maximum potential through relaxed, open movement. He has vast experience in solving students' technical problems and improving their quality of sound. He also offer personalized coaching for auditions, competitions and college programs.

By concentrating their attention on finger training and the appreciation of music, we help our students discover the fun and beauty of playing a musical instrument. Our teaching principles help to maximize the development potential of every student. Particular attention is paid to correct posture and finger training - to avoid repetitive stress injuries. Summer lessons and advice on purchasing an instrument are available.
