    About MeContact MeBlog
I have taught piano, music theory, and music history, since 1986. I hold a BA and a BM in Music and Piano Performance from the Univ. of WA, and did some piano pedagogy work at Masters level, at the Univ. of Texas. I also teach beginning composition, to interested students. In 2010, I taught voice class, as part of the outreach pogram of Auburn Gateway School. (My teachers are listed in my blog entry). Upcoming performance includes a Summer concert with the Smooth Tones Choral Group, and an audition for the Seattle Festival Orchestra. I am a state and Nationally certified piano teacher

"I am a patient, caring, and committed teacher, interested in instilling a love and appreciation of music in my students."

In Everett, WA, a reviewer for the Everett Herald, wrote of a solo performance, " Sally Ramsden opened the second half of the concert with a piece by Ravel: Jeux d'Eau. It was, to this reviewer, the highlight of the evening. Much of the work had fluid, rolling runs, which Ms. Ramsden played as though they were long, silken threads, waving in a breeze. It was played so smoothly and flawlessly that the separate bit receded, leaving only the whole. It was an extraordinary effect... Her other two pieces-Moments Musicaux by Schubert, and Sonata No.4 by Scriabin-displayed more of her superb talents. She handled the various tempos and volumes and shifts with ease.

My rates are currently $25 for a half hour lesson, 45 minutes $40. One hour $50.

The following is my mission statement:
"I strive to open my student's minds to classical, but other genres, as well, and instill in them a love of music. I instruct my students with patience and sensitivity, aware of each one's individual learning style and goals. Through the study of piano I hope to help them discover their own strengths and talents."
