    About MeContact MeBlog
My name is Renata and music has been my passion since I was 4 years old. I enjoy teaching piano, and it brings me joy to see students learning and excited about seeing their progress. If you are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, yet patient piano teacher for your child or yourself, I would like to have the opportunity to help you, whether you are a beginner or advanced. I teach the piano basics, including theory, at all levels and ages, from classical to contemporary.

    My Teaching Background
From the age of 3 1/2, I began my musical journey as a young pianist, with formal training at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. This has enabled me to pursue my music career in performance, teaching and accompanying. As a young pianist I performed in many festivals and competitions, and was recipient of numerous awards, medals and scholarships. Being awarded the First place in Canada for the Youth and Music Canada Competition as a piano duo, I gained experience of giving a music tour, and also had the privilege of performing with a couple of orchestras in Toronto, Canada. I have extensive experience in performing with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs and ensembles, and it is my joy to collaborate with other musicians.
I've been teaching piano for over 30 years, and playing for over 40 years.

Education: Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto.
Master of Music in piano performance and pedagogy from East Texas State University, Commerce, TX

Recordings: Hymns In Classical Style - include some original arrangements.
Joy to the World - Christmas music

    My Teaching Philosophy
My overall goal for every student, is to give them the best, detailed instruction on the basics of piano playing and theory, using the proper technique, musicality, and helping the student gain confidence in knowing they accomplished something and feel good about doing it. My approach varies from student to student. Depending on their age, development and their goals, I customize each lesson, to suit the student and the music they are working on. I enjoy the challenge of working with all kinds of students, at different levels. I help prepare students for recitals, festivals and also, for just the enjoyment of learning to play the piano.
