    Introduction
Hi there! I'm a flutist and saxophonist living in San Diego. I've got a Bachelors on the flute from the Manhattan School of Music, a Masters on the Sax also from MSM and a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in Theory.

I ADORE teaching and have taught for many years on practically EVERY conceivable level: university, high school, middle school, privately, classes, classrooms, even taught online. I had my first private student when I was fifteen and have never been without students since then. No matter what your level is, I will help you discover more about music (and yourself in the process!) and become a better musician. I promise!!!!!

    My Teaching Background
University of California - flute and chamber music for five years
San Diego City College - 2005 to present
    Southwestern College - 1992 to 2003
Privately - for the last forty+ years!
Ph.D., MMus, BMus, California HS Teacher Certification

    My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that students don't "take from" a teacher, they "study with" someone because as a teacher, I learn from my students at every lesson. My job is to hold the highest possible standard for my students, requiring their best efforts and celebrating their successes while working through their difficulties. I only ask for a teachable attitude, an instrument in good repair, the desire to improve and as much regular practice time as possible. Teaching, performance and research - these are the three legs of any real musician's stool: each one is equally important!

    Rates And Availability
I teach at my home studio in Scripps Ranch, CA (92131). My fees are $60/hour, $35/half hour with a 24 hour minimum notification of a cancellation (or you pay for the lesson). I will go to homes in Scripps Ranch for $25 and I prefer monthly payment. I accept all credit cards and checks but I do prefer cash when possible. I have two dogs so if you have severe pet allergies, this can be an issue to consider.
