Introduction
Please don't let the fact that I have 0 registered students on this website, I do not correspond with my students via the web site. I prefer a more personal approach, I use the telephone. Please visit my website www.chatfieldmusic.com to learn more about my studio. I have been married 26 years, we have an 19 year old daughter. I teach piano lessons in our home. My Teaching Background
I have been playing the piano for over 30 years. I was privately taught. I have been teaching piano lessons for about 10 years. I was a church pianist for several years playing for church services and accompanying vocalists and myself.

My Teaching Philosophy
I do my best to work with each student at their individual pace while encouraging them to progress. I do not believe lessons should be stressful or intimidating to the student and do my best to keep things "light". I put a lot of emphasis on music theory so the student understands how music works and. Along with using lesson books I always use a lot of theory work sheets. I introduce learning chords and harmony as soon as possible so the student can learn to improvise.

Rates And Availability
I offer a free first meeting in my home for the student and/or parents. This allows us to get to know each other and discuss any questions and studio policies. I have found that this helps the student feel more comfortable at the first lesson. Lessons are 30 minutes at $15 a lesson. I prefer the lessons be paid for each month, in advance, at the first lesson of the month, but I will accept payment at each lesson, if necessary.
