    About MeContact Me
    Introduction
My name is Joshua Romatowski. I have just recently moved to Renton and am looking to build a studio! I have been a flute teacher in the Puget Sound for the previous 3 years, and have worked with flutist of all ages and backgrounds. I received a M.M in Flute Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Timothy Day. I received a B.M. in Flute Performance from the University of Texas at Austin with Marianne Gedigian. From 2003-2006 I studied with Jeffery Zook, Piccoloist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. I also received an Artist Diploma in Early Music on Baroque Flute from the Cornish College of the Arts, studying with Janet See.

    My Teaching Background
I am currently on faculty at Music Works Northwest, a non-profit community music school in Bellevue, and have taught privately for the last 10 years. The students I have worked with have ranged from middle school age to adult. From October 2011-May 2013 I was on faculty with the Young Musician's Program based at the University of California at Berkeley. For the 2011-2012 academic I was involved with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Conservatory in the Schools program. I taught music lessons to 4th and 5th graders who were in financial situations that would previously had not allowed to them to have instruments or private instruction. My Teaching Philosophy
I believes in giving students the tools to express and perform at their highest level by instilling a strong sense of core fundamentals and musical awareness. With these tools students can leave lessons inspired and with a clear idea of how to improve during their private practice.

I think that everyone has the potential to be a great musician. The process to unlock this potential requires a dedicated teacher. I strive to bring the required amount of dedication necessary to all of my students so that they feel enlightened and motivated after each lesson.

    Rates And Availability
I teach both at home and at student's locations. My current rate for lessons is $30 for 30 minutes, $40 for 45 minutes, and $50 for 60 minute lessons. I am available for lessons weekdays anytime and weekends anytime. My schedule is flexible.
