    About MeContact Me
I am a professional accordionist, composer, and teacher with over 15 years of experience leading ensembles and performing solo. I have given concerts all over the U.S. as well as Canada, Australia, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, and Poland. Locally, I have performed at esteemed New Orleans venues such as The Maison, d.b.a, The Spotted Cat, Allways Lounge, Hi-Ho Lounge, Siberia, Yuki, Marigny Brasserie, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Voodoo and French Quarter festivals, and the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo. I specialize in klezmer (European Jewish instrumental music) and Eastern European musics, though I play many other styles as well.

    My Teaching Background
I have taught accordion privately for many years, and taught klezmer at the Summit School of Vermont until my move to New Orleans in 2012. I studied with Romanian accordion virtuoso Marin Nasturica, and have learned from many different accordionists and musicians around the world.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I am a very patient and gentle teacher. It's important to me to communicate my passion for music, as well as the instrument. I attempt in my teaching to give equal importance to technique, theory, and the artistic intent of the music at hand. I do not have a rigid method, but customize my teaching to the particular experience level, taste, and ambition of the student. I generally teach by ear, and music reading is not essential, though I will work with sheet music if a student prefers.

    Rates And Availability
I teach out of my home studio in the Treme. I would be willing to make house calls for a small additional fee, within a reasonable radius. My normal fee is $35 for an hour lesson.
