    Introduction
Howdy, My name is Brad Carter and I love to teach music. I play guitar and banjo and I teach several styles of music. Bluegrass, Old Time, Folk, and Rock are my areas of experience.

    Musical Background
I have been playing music for most of my life. The guitar is one of the great joys in my life and I've been playing it for as long as I can remember. About 6 years ago I felt the call back to Bluegrass and Old Time music and started playing the the banjo. I recently took second place in the Wenatchee River Flatpicking competition. I also write and record original music and you can sample some of it on myspace.

Some of my original tunes have been featured on NBC's sports and adventure filmaker Josh Lowell's Dosage Videos. Currently you can find me performing every Tuesday night at 611 supreme on Capitol Hill. http://www.611supreme.com

    My Teaching Philosophy
I try to gear my teaching to each student's musical goals. I like to spend extra time dealing with technique issues as I find this is an area that often gets overlooked by music teachers. My goal is to get you where you want to go musically. I've taken several lessons with teachers that never gave me the tools to get better. I pride myself on giving my students the knowledge to teach themselves to play. Feel free to check out my blog for FREE playing tips. You can link to that here:

Several years ago my own playing hit a serious plateau and I didn't know how to improve any further. Several lessons, lots of practice, and lots of soul searching have helped me overcome the obstacles I was facing. I learned to play better, but I also gained a much greater understanding of how to explain to others what I learned.

    Rates And Availability
I usually teach out my home but I am willing to travel to teach. My rates are $35 per lesson and most lessons last about an hour. I don't mind travelling to teach but for that I charge $45 per lesson. I have weekdays free so days or nights are possible.
