    About MeContact MeCalendarBlog
I welcome your inquiry at Betty Patnude Piano Studio where music instruction is offered for children from ages 6 through teens and adults - ALL - levels of study and interests - Beginners and transfer and returning students.

If you are considering ENROLLMENT for SEPTEMBER, please contact me NOW as there will be limited openings for new private students. I offer a Year Round Program, a Short Individualized Goals Program, and a Summer Program. In September to December, I am considering a program for returning adults to prepare Christmas and Holiday Music.

To orient you to my teaching I offer everyone an opportunity up to one hour of free lesson to determine our interest in working together and our compatibility. You will receive my studio policy and tuition fees at your visit.

I use my own method - a collection of "tools" and "tricks" in achieving "Piano Power". I have been teaching since 1971, and a member of Music Teacher's National Association (24,000 members) - Washington State Music Teacher's Association (1,200 members) - Mount Rainier Chapter since 1981. If you wish to google: "Betty Patnude" you will have some references to my writings and to my activities in music.

I am skilled in social music as well as classical, and believe that playing a vast variety of styles and rhythms is important to piano students of all ages. My students memorize and perform in the community and at recitals. Their playing programs are impressive for their ages and levels of study. I believe that I am cultivating a young musician from the start and my students and parents are inspired by what the students are able to accomplish. I will be happy to play for you.

My long term students have been with me for 5-6-7 years and are now ages 12 to 14. They enjoy entertaining at Community Performances for my local MTNA chapter student events. Four of my students participated in giving a one hour program at a local bulb farm retail shop for a Spring Event in 2007. This year, 2008, we did an hour with 5 Beginners and 2 Advanced Students.

Christmas and Spring performances are annual events in my piano studio and there are also other year round student activities listed on my studio calendar.

I have a printed policy and I am happy to answer your questions. My tuition fees are competitively reasonable with the area.information. Choose a year round instruction for 10 monthly payments, or a shorter term program with a set of pecific goals. Hourly or half hour rates for private lesson $40 and $25. Discounts given for Quarterly Tuition Payments.

The first teacher is the most important teacher for a student - all basic habits and formations are done in the beginning. You should enter into study having confidence in your teacher as your decision is an important one. You want to enroll in a successful program of piano study with a music teacher with a good reputation and track record. You count on his or her knowledge to influence and support your musical interest and future. I really feel that we are choosing each other and making a commitment for a successful outcome in music study when we decide to work together and it needs to be comfortable and communicative and add to our mutual well being. You need to be enthusiastic about your teacher and what services are offered.

    Thank you for considering me!
