I want to invite you to a Soul Singing Circle! What is a SSC, you ask?
SSC Description:
All who enter this safe space seek to explore and express themselves through the voice. Singers of the shower, the car, the stage - all levels welcome. While solos will not be required, all who attend shall sing as a group, and be encouraged to step forth into a new vocal space to further explore the power of their voice. These circles will include a grounding meditation, chanting, vocal improvisation and healing vocalizing that opens the body and frees the mind.

Soul Singing Circles are held the 3rd Thursday of every month on the WestSide of L.A., and at other specific booked times/locations. Free your mind and your voice in community while simultaneously experiencing an incredible journey through self. We ask for a suggested donation of $20, but do not want funds or lack thereof to hold anyone back from experiencing this. So please just be in touch to arrange something if money is an issue ('tis an issue no more!)

I'm starting to teach a new type of voice lesson called "Soul Singing." Soul Singing is something I've been doing for years, and I feel on many levels that the broader public will benefit greatly from it! You probably have experienced it on some level when no one's looking, when you feel free to sing whatever is on your mind, or in your heart, and to deviate from the notes on the pg., and just SING.
The voice is one of most important, and often neglected forms of self-expression and self-recognition. In cultures around the world, communities sing as a part of daily life, and we here in the states are taught to hide our voices. Music is reserved for the concert hall, school choir, and outside lessons, which are costly (I know! I have to pay rent!). We have a lot to say, and often tuck away our thoughts, opinions and emotions. We are often told "you have a bad voice," Or "you shouldn't sing." HOW SAD! AND HOW UNTRUE!
What a wonderful, natural way to get these feelings and inner-troubles out -- SINGING!
Soul singing is for professional singers, those who only enjoy shower and car singing, AND for those who are afraid to sing, but want to challenge themselves.
"Soul Singing" is not something I want to keep secret so I can attract all the students. I want to teach as many people as possible, so they can teach others, so we can be a happy, singing people.
